Looking for a specific title or author? Find out where the book is located using the HVCC Catalog.

Select HVCC Catalog
Enter the title or author you are looking for
Select Books/Ebooks from the material type menu.
Click search.
The call number (where the book is on the shelf) will be the last piece of information after Available at Dwight Marvin Library Children's Lit .

Do you have time to request books from Resource Sharing? Yes! Search the SUNY catalog using these steps:

Select SUNY Catalog from the list of search options
Type the title or author you are looking for into the search bar.
Leave the material types as books/ebooks.
Click search.
Sign in to your library account using your HVCC username and password.
When you find the book you want, click on "Check for available services."
Click the white box that says Resource Sharing. Double check that the form is correct, then click Send Request.
Pick up your item when you get an email saying your item is ready. The book(s) will be held for you at the First Floor Service Desk.

If you live in Albany or Rensselaer Counties your public library is in the Upper Hudson Library System.

Register Online for a Public Library Card
You can sign up for an Upper Hudson Library System card online. You'll need to visit a UHLS library near you to pick up your physical card within 30 days. In the meantime, you can use your e-card to access ebooks.
Libby through the Upper Hudson Library System
You can borrow thousands of children's ebooks and audiobooks through Libby. Libby requires a library card.
Hoopla
Hoopla is a digital media service offered by the Upper Hudson Library System libraries that allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows to enjoy on your computer, tablet, or phone – and even your TV!
Please note: hoopla is available through all UHLS libraries except William K. Sanford Town Library (Colonie), Cheney Library (Hoosick Falls), Petersburgh Public Library and Valley Falls Free Library. Use your UHLS library card to access hoopla.

If you live in Schenectady, Fulton, Montgomery, or Schoharie County, your public library is in the Mohawk Valley Library System.

International Digital Children's Library
This site was started in 2002, as a joint project of the University of Maryland and the Internet Archive and it is know as the premier children's digital library for children, teachers, and librarians. This collection is geared towards children ages 3 - 13 and provides a platform for children's literature and digital media. The collection contains more than 10,000 digitized children's books in 54 languages, including many award-winning books.

The Library of Congress provides access to 50 digitized texts of rare books, including The Arabian Nights, A Child's Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson, A Christmas Carol, and The Secret Garden.
