The course introduces the student to the basics of standard medical coding classifications and nomenclatures used to code diseases and medical/surgical procedures, i.e. CPT4, ICD9 and HCPCS.
Students will explore the practical applications of medical coding relative to delivery system, health insurance and reimbursement mechanisms.
