Ellen Kalish, founder and executive director of the Ravensbeard Wildlife Center, will bring a falcon, owl and hawk from the sanctuary to discuss their rescue and rehabilitation. She will share each bird’s story and discuss reasons why it is important to protect habitat and preserve bird species.

Dr. Monica Debro, Author, Speaker, Certified Mental Health Coach will bring a powerful presentation dedicated to fostering mental and emotional well-being. By cultivating a mindset of empowerment, you can learn to navigate the complexities of depression while building lasting confidence.

Nearly half of U.S. adults have experienced an incident of abuse in an intimate relationship. The reality of this statistic means many of us will know someone who has experienced or is experiencing some form of maltreatment. Is there a difference between a “toxic” relationship and an “abusive” relationship? Reanna Savage and Mike Fonda, from St. Peter’s Crime Victim Services, invite you to join them in an open, unbiased discussion on knowing the differences between the two, with an equal focus on recognizing the “green flags” and healthy behaviors of positive relationships.

A sanctuary for retired racehorses, THS offers equine-assisted therapy opportunities for people to interact with these amazing animals to promote wellness.

Ella Derbyshire MD, 1995 graduate of Hudson Valley Community College and current Village-Based Physician in Unalakleet Alaska, discusses the long road to becoming a physician and some of the unique challenges and rewards of serving as a physician at Amundsen Scott South Pole Station and providing primary and emergency healthcare in remote indigenous Alaskan Communities.

Eileen Clinton discussing her book- "What a Wonderful World" Eileen Clinton, M.S., has a diverse background as a health educator, hospice bereavement specialist and licensed funeral director. She earned a degree in Mortuary Science at HVCC in 1975. After years of supporting the bereaved in funeral service and hospice, Clinton co-founded the Bereavement Studies Program at Maria College in Albany. For 20-plus years, she taught students about death and dying at Maria, SUNY Canton and for funeral directors across New York State. In addition to discussing “What a Wonderful World,” her 2023 book, Clinton will provide suggestions for healing that can help anyone find their own pathway to coping with personal loss. Based on his 33 years of experience working with homeless and under-resourced men, women and children, Michael Saccocio, Executive Director/CEO of City Mission of Schenectady, will discuss strategies for converting divisive social situations into partnerships that create opportunities and build community. In addition, he will share stories of how purpose-driven individuals can use their adverse life experiences to inspire others to build better futures for themselves and their families.

Entrepreneur Rosalyn D. Elder is a registered architect with a passion for the arts, architecture and cities, and history. She is the founder of African American Heritage in Massachusetts, a resource for educators and others interested in Black history. She holds a B.A. in Art History from the University of Memphis, a Master of Architecture from the University of Washington, and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University. Elder’s topic is “Reclaiming Malcolm X.” This is a concept that refers to revisiting, reinterpreting and understanding Malcolm X’s legacy in a contemporary context. His journey from a life of crime and incarceration to becoming one of the most influential leaders of the Civil Rights Movement presents a powerful narrative of transformation, resilience and empowerment. The process of reclaiming his legacy is an attempt to bring forth his teachings in ways that resonate with modern struggles, particularly those surrounding race, justice and identity.

The American Red Cross – Service in Action with Kevin Coffey Ever since its founding by Clara Barton in 1881, the American Red Cross has been dedicated to serving people in need. The world has changed a great deal in 140 years, but the American Red Cross remains committed to its mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering with a workforce that is comprised of 90% volunteers and the generous support of donors. Kevin Coffey, Regional CEO, American Red Cross of Eastern NY, will describe how they deliver humanitarian services down the street, across the country and around the globe.
